California Ground Squirrel
One spring I took the Squaw
Valley tram. (I'm a bit nervous about heights, but that's a different story.) Besides beautiful views and wildflowers,
there was this ground squirrel waiting for me at the top. Of course, he was really waiting for food, but he let me get close
enough to take a lot of pictures. My goal with this painting was to try to paint him with dignity, to try to show his
character, rather than just making him a cute little animal.
